Intro to Coding....We have some young geniuses!
The first Saturday class of Intro to Coding for 5-7 year olds was amazing. We were floored at the ability of these young kids to understand and incorporate spatial orientation into both dictating instructions and incorporating code. We fully observed the idea that "young kids learn quickly" and are thrilled to see how far their inquiry thinking and new coding skills will take them by week four!!

Minecraft Club Blasts Off
What a great kick off to the STEAM Jr Minecraft club! Kids helping kids, working together with such an audible level of enthusiasm. It was wonderful and we are really looking forward to next week!

HELLO COMPUTER Final Class: Drawbot Creation
Our first class of budding engineers ended with a bang, or a spin or whatever the kids thought up to make their drawbot move. We used cups, markers, tape (LOTS of it), motors, batteries, stickers, straws, streamers, foam balls, popsicle sticks, eyes and even stale marshmallows to make it all work!
It was fun to watch them brainstorm and try several things to attempt to create enough movement for their bot to "move".
We will miss this particular group; forever our first STEAM Jr class graduates and congratulate them as they start to look at the world a little bit differently.

Best saying of the month from one graduate to his little sister...
"Don't worry Em, I'm an engineer!"
We are so proud,
